Verizon Wireless says it's
finally launched its EV-DO Rev. A network, but only in the state of Florida and a handful of other locations. This comes three months after
Sprint launched Rev. A, and it now has it going
in 24 major markets. Of course, the question remains: what good are these faster data networks when operators like Verizon limit how customers can use them, either with
restrictive terms of service or by
keeping them inside walled gardens? For now, it looks like all Rev. A means for Verizon subscribers is faster access to mobile content
it has deemed financially useful, or if you're on a PC,
a limited amount of certain types of data, despite what its marketing materials might say.
