"The RIAA still doesn't understand how search works"
The RIAA still does not understand how the Internet works which, considering how long it has been around, is quite a statement.
They are dinosaurs longing for a return to the days when they had a nice, profitable monopoly on music. Those days are gone and they are not coming back. If they do not accept that and join the rest of the world, they will soon become extinct.
This just shows how corrupt a society we live in. Rights should be a given but because of corrupt elitist governments we have to fight for what we should have automatically. The whole system needs to be torn down and rebuilt.
"A recent poll shows that Nickelback has a higher approval rating than congress"
I have recently discovered that warm feeling one gets from contributing to crowd funded projects through Pledgemusic. It has made me feel a connection with the art and the artist in a way that I have never been able to before, and I imagine it is a similar story for the artists.
The fact that it sticks it to the major record labels is a very nice bonus.

"we are heading for a police state and/or crippled technology - do you really want that??"
It's worse than that. Economies are so reliant on the Internet and other technologies that what the entertainment industries want would destroy economies all around the world. Sometimes I think that is what bob and is idiotic, inbred cronies want to happen.
