Techdirt continues to always side with Big Business whenever an elected official, once in a blue moon, realizes that non-gelded citizens elect them to represent American interests, not Wall Street plutocrats and international billionaires.
Like Sony, Disney, Warner Bros., Nintendo, and Comcast? Those Big Businesses? If you think TechDirt has been kissing their asses, not only have you not been paying attention, but the entire class is laughing at you and making fun of you for behaving like a clown.
In fairness to Koby, his arguments are far more cogent and valid than the one-trick pony who's disingenuously saying "What gives Americans the right to oppose billionaires?" acting like Republicans (including under Trump) haven't been doing everything they could to enrich them?
Of all the people who should really not be on board with punishing liars you'd think politicians and former politicians would be at the top of the list.
I'd put Joe Lieberman on the top of the list because because he was an extremely censorious senator going back to the Video Game hearings that eventually gave way to the ESRB (which was a great thing, mind you). Luckily, thanks to Brown v. E.M.A. (and the fact that Lieberman stepped down rather than face an unpopular electorate), we no longer have to deal with people like him anymore.
While I don't doubt that Nintendo may benefit from this law, there are other beneficiaries of this law: Bandai Namco, Square-Enix (who also distributes Full Metal Alchemist in Japan), Shonen Jump, etc. just to name a few.
While Nintendo is indeed ruthless in their copyright enforcement, don't think that they're the only ones who are looking at this proposed legislatioin and salivating…
Umm, I'm an independent musician and I use Creative Commons licenses on my own work. Just look and see. Also, while there are definitely honest independent labels out there, the major corporate ones are anything but honest as they're the ones cheating artists, not spotify.

Are you a broken record, or are you just looping within the lock groove, not unlike Side B of Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts' Club Band?
Seriously, get a point.

Please clarify what you mean by “[Joe Lieberman’s] son in Georgia”. Thank you.

Besides, people listen to Streaming services such as Spotify more now and illegally download less often, so railing against download piracy is as relevant as railing against the line-item veto.
Sorry, you lose.
