True, it's a relic of a different time and the reasons for it simply do not apply now."
That part you are uniformed about, for the people in sparsely populated stated to have any voice in government it or something much like it is needed.
Not that anyone without a lobbyist has any say in government any more, but still you are giving the strength of the votes to the cities and therefore to the "Haywood pay my electric bill" group, aka the Democrats.

I have to agree, the reason you need cubic money to go to school is that the DOE made it available and education raised its rates to suck up all available funds.
It's kind of like how insurance corrupted and ruined the medical industry.
"How can damages of a possible betrayal can be kept to a minimum?"
Double and triple, even quadruple redundancy.
The protesters edge is; they out number the authorities significantly. You have sacrifice a few pawns.

On the plus side; it is a step toward irrelevance. The Sports syndicates, pro & even college, are getting so protective of their content, it will happen some day, hopefully soon, that they can't draw a crowd to watch, even for free. No one will care what they do, when, or where they do it.
What is the plan? The one sector that keeps growing is internet sales. I for one, will do without whatever it was, rather than seeking it out at brick and mortar, so like the Mafiaa's they likely won't get the business back by killing off the other guy. Not every hit elsewhere is a lost sale. The Brick and mortars lost the public by not having good inventory, and over charging for what they had.
Couldn't agree more, why should I have to buy at Game Stop when private sellers exist. This is like making it so I have to buy a used car from a used car dealer or reverse won't work.
The united states of America (note lower case) was incorporated in 1868/71 by the Roman Catholic institute. The united states of America could not stay sovereign and trade with nations already within the Oleron Law system.
This is why events were engineered to destroy the sovereignty of America and bring about the 14th Amendment making all State citizens now property of this corporation D.C. In truth D.C. controls no where on the mainland other than its small patch.
I agree, when I was with UPS, we often had to ransom a package that a newbie had deposited in a mailbox, and the carrier had taken back to the post office. The mail boxes are theirs and theirs alone, that is just a fact of delivery in the US. Not really hard to cope with, why should the USPS give up a federally guaranteed competitive advantage?
I won't even buy a used GM car /truck if it has on-star. Why would anyone want an open mic in their car. I don't think you need to be involved in nefarious activity to want to have a private place. I'm sure there are ways to disable the system, and if I wanted the vehicle bad enough I'd look into that, but I couldn't just ignore it and live with it.
I'm all for dismantling it, I haven't flown since the TSA took over and don't intend to. It never was hassle free, but now they go out of their way to find nits to pick. Let those willing to put up with it have air travel, I'll drive. I have the time, I enjoy the activity, and my blood pressure stays in range.
Severity doesn't matter at all, certainty does, though
It is like dealing with children; threatening to shoot them dead has no effect, but a guaranteed spanking or even time-out will modify behavior in short order.
"Even if you sell the vehicle for scrap, the ownership isn't transferred until all the fines are paid. In other words, the scrapyard won't deal with you until the fines are paid."
So, cut it up with a torch and a 4" grinder and set it to the curb, a little at a time with the trash.
