"AT&T is a corporation and should not be entitled to ANY rights."
Take away what they have now and there'd be no reason to form corps. Might as well chase private businesses away like a torch-bearing mob chasing away a Frankenstein's monster. Which would mean chasing away jobs. This country's bipolar relationship with business is maddening. I'm not saying corps should have full constitutional rights, but by god, how long will it be before we completely chase all private enterprise away and form another impotent socialist states? I guess that's what the left is working toward, huh? Bread lines & Gov. hand-outs instead of personal achievement? Some worker's paradise.
Remember that when the Prez give a full-house speech the supremes are the only branch that doesn't stand up and clap when the Prex enters the chamber. It is precisely because they are not elected that they can maintain this separate-equal decorum.
The "framers" decided the Gov. needed at least one branch to be a final authority, that wasn't beholden to the election cycle. Otherwise the three branches would be no better than the three stooges; each can poke the other in the eyes and slap each other around. I agree. If the supremes were subject to the election cycle the government would be a more chaotic platform than it is now.
UK Pop Singer. Interesting suit considering she could actually hire a consultant or two to get her the same information Apple could provide. I guess she wanted Apple to provide her with free IT consulting. I don't particularly care to line up with Apple on anything, but in this case were I Apple I'd probably have told her the same thing. Do people like her have any idea how the real world works?
"we fear that they are establishing themselves as an alternate destination and authority for the film. They could post false, misleading, or inappropriate content..."
So some miscreant could post mis-leading information regarding the plot, de-railing the whole project, leading to mayhem in the streets, and an apocalyptic end to civilization. Ok...
Seems like a strange thing to block, but, ok. What if the discussion were between two researchers discussing the latest advances in stem cell technology, perhaps one researcher discoveries the missing steps to growing an new heart from a patient's node hair. The ISP sees "stem cell" and blocks a potential game-changing therapy. Now they may have the right to do it, but would you really want them to be making that call?
I think the ad is rather stupid, but that still doesn't explain why it would make Apple look stupid, or be any kind of negative reflection at all... "Don't make a commercial for your app that we don't like or we'll pull your app." I mean, what is that???
