If Comcast or Bank of America had fans, I'm sure they'd manage to be worse to them. Comcast would cut off their capped internet connections for streaming too many fan videos, and Bank of America would foreclose on their homes even if they only had savings accounts.
Disclaimer: I happen to have accounts with both Comcast and Bank of America (though not a mortgage). They have done neither of these things to me.
Re: Re: Boiled down: a "public performance" is any on a PUBLIC DVD player.
I think the odd sentence structure in the second sentence was more difficult than the words themselves. His use of quotation marks on "intuited" probably means his intuition doesn't say the same thing. Poor guy, almost everyone who responded seemed mad at him.
When I read your title and comment, the capitalization made me think you were talking about political bodies (with the US vs the UN).
I read your comment like you think Mike has something material to gain by his point of view being the general one. I seriously doubt he's shorting patent trolls.
The local "Chamber of Commerce" is always just a collection of local businesses getting together. Wikipedia calls it "a local organization of businesses whose goal is to further the interests of businesses." The same applies to the national version.
I don't think it means the elected officials are confused about what's in PROTECT IP. Maybe her lobbyists didn't provide a form letter for PROTECT IP, so the staff had to go with the closest topic available.
You're pretending that movie licensing price is in any way determined by supply and demand. The studios are unilaterally raising their demanded price to license the content; it's not because the supply of digital movies is running out, but because they have monopoly control, that they can do this.
