I wonder, this is clearly an act of civil disobedience. Protest if you will. How would this fit into the CFAA? Could the administration twist already bad laws like the espionage act and prosecute the person even more aggressively than previous whistleblowers (even if it isn't really blowing the whistle)?
I hope TD keeps an eye on the developments of this case.
"Can't have cries of "lock him up" being fired back at his administration -- not after using Hillary Clinton's email server as a campaign plank for so many months. "
Yes he can. He has already lied and twisted facts to fit his interests. Something he manages to do more often and in an even worse way than his predecessors.
Maybe it's just me but I don't recall Ray Tomlinson suing people around or relying on self-promoting sites to get recognized as one of the key persons on the development of e-mail that's actually pretty much what we use today. Just a tip Mr Avadurai.
Well, at the very least Trump was better than Obama here. He is being all the bad he said he would be before getting in the chair instead of promising one thing and doing the opposite. The best we can accuse him is of being worse than he said he would be.
"Frankly, if any other group of individuals were acting the way APD has allegedly been acting, some of us in law enforcement might refer to them as a continuing criminal enterprise and/or engaged in the act of racketeering. I appreciate how bold a statement that is."
We've been saying that for years now. APD is only one of the examples.
"Now, it's not as though it was only upon President Trump's inauguration that journalists were suddenly being arrested while performing their jobs. It happened on several occasions under Barrack Obama, beacon of transparency and press access though he claimed to be. Instead, this is something of a continuation of an attack on a free and open press, buttressed by a President engaged in open warfare with any press outlets he doesn't find favorable. "
This is from the article. While the article does emphasize that Trump is taking an antagonistic stance towards any journalist that report even the slightest bad facts about him it's clear the critic goes further than Trump alone. So, please, leave your partisan bullshit out of it.
So it turns out Trump is not just bad but abysmally bad. And it's been 6 days since he moved into the White House. Fun times ahead people! If the US can survive Trump there will be a lot to clean up. If they survive.
I'm actually surprised they didn't decide to simply ignore the court orders or say that a catastrophic leakage of rain water destroyed the entire database.
I'm still waiting the time they'll reveal they are actually a pro-creator movement disguised in some copyright troll doing it on purpose to help people fight copyright excesses.
Oh, the complex murder cases we solve - those which involve more than 1 victim - take an average of forever to be solved but fear not, the simple cases take only life plus 70 years (because why not?) so we are awesome law enforcement!
Ahem. Of course when trying to secure a conviction then even the most complex cases will be dealt with swiftly.
Beware Mike, you are showing your racism against the fine, impartial and intelligent Ajit Pai just because he's Indian. Just like you did with Mr Ayyadurai and it went so well.
Awww.. I was hoping the next time the FBI asked for the keys he would print them in a grain of rice and deliver with a microscope neatly packaged in a red box with green ribbons.
Well, considering I'd be arrested without recourse here this is refreshing even if the guy got arrested he was quickly released and will be able to get some cash on top of it. It's unlikely the PD will punish the offending officers for it but it would be the cherry on top of the cake.
Well, at the very least it seems somebody in the legislative is doing their jobs at the bare minimum. Though I'd like to see many other blockades due to conflicts of interest. But better little than nothing.
One has to wonder though if another person that's even worse than Pompeo will end up there.
