I don't get that; I've seen waay more explicate/"obscene" media in Vancouver B.C. than U've ever seen in Prudville USA yet the Canadian customs agents were giving you a hassle? Bizarre.
"U.S. traveler returning to the country is unreasonable."
I completely and utterly agree. As Mike wrote, any kind of "illegal data" (whatever that might be) can be transferred effortlessly across any border via the internet, making this particular search completely meaningless and a complete waste of time. As if going through the border didn't already cost people hours of time.
Shutting down Craigslist isn't going to end all exploitation. Won't even end a little of it. Censorship is never a good idea. The legal status of prostitution in all 50 states hasn't changed in 100 years, its still illegal in all but one, and in that state it will still be legal. Telling craigslist to deny advertising that appears to advertise prostitution makes as much sense to me as flogging a dead horse. Some of the letters from readers on other blogs really appeared to me to be a position of "If I don't see it, it doesn't exist, so denying craigslist its first amendment rights is fine."
I don't understand this pov, in fact I think its pretty stupid.
That anyone would lay claim to "Debbie Does Dallas" is in itself interesting. I always wondered what became of the one "actress" who had incredibly bad cesarean section scars.
Well, counselor, one assumes that Avvo is interested in pursing a perception of legitimacy, so baseless accusations and slanderous opinions shouldn't be par for them. Unless your a completely illegitimate and corrupt lawyer, in which case I would accuse them of being incompetent.
"900 free web sites w/ads" I don't even understand what that means. But with that many sites, there obviously had to be some overlap in the "services" offered? Were they those annoying web pages that come up in searches that are nothing more than links to other websites that are very generally related to the search term? Damn those are annoying.
Don't buy a kindle or any other reader where this is possible. I use an off-brand ereader that I found at my local supermarket for $150. Very happy with it, not possible for amazon to lock it up.
