Startup Failures
from the you-can-make-a-business-out-of-anything,-these-days dept
Okay, so now that the "internet revolution" is over, what's the next startup to create? How about one that helps startup founders deal with failure. An interesting concept, and might gain a following, but I'm really not sure how valuable the service is. Also, since I know a lot of failed Silicon Valley entrepreneurs, the last thing most of them want to do is dwell on, or discuss the failure. We work hard every day to put quality content out there for our community.
Techdirt is one of the few remaining truly independent media outlets. We do not have a giant corporation behind us, and we rely heavily on our community to support us, in an age when advertisers are increasingly uninterested in sponsoring small, independent sites — especially a site like ours that is unwilling to pull punches in its reporting and analysis.
While other websites have resorted to paywalls, registration requirements, and increasingly annoying/intrusive advertising, we have always kept Techdirt open and available to anyone. But in order to continue doing so, we need your support. We offer a variety of ways for our readers to support us, from direct donations to special subscriptions and cool merchandise — and every little bit helps. Thank you.

Money is the root of all crap.
As much as I want to startup a company, and I believe I could...fear of failure comes in, not making ANY money comes into play. "Be your own boss", well that is nice...but then again, your boss runs on a paycheck...and he gets paid...and he does not have to pay your salary out of his pocket.....very different when you become "The dude in the chair".
