More From Cramer on the Internet Lacking Fun Stuff
from the he-just-doesn't-stop dept
Yesterday we posted about Jim Cramer saying the internet wasn't fun any more. Apparently that column hit a nerve with a lot of his readers, and he's got more to say on the matter. At first it seems that some people tried to get him to look at some cool sites, but then he brushes all that aside saying most people agree that the web has become too impersonal and too big businessy. The problem, according to him, is that the web used to be interactive, but now it's just too big, so the interactivity has been reduced. I see what he's talking about, but I still think there's an element of interactivity that makes it fun. Maybe it's just that I spend too much time focused on lesser known sites (like Techdirt) that are more willing and able to communicate with its readers.Thank you for reading this Techdirt post. With so many things competing for everyone’s attention these days, we really appreciate you giving us your time. We work hard every day to put quality content out there for our community.
Techdirt is one of the few remaining truly independent media outlets. We do not have a giant corporation behind us, and we rely heavily on our community to support us, in an age when advertisers are increasingly uninterested in sponsoring small, independent sites — especially a site like ours that is unwilling to pull punches in its reporting and analysis.
While other websites have resorted to paywalls, registration requirements, and increasingly annoying/intrusive advertising, we have always kept Techdirt open and available to anyone. But in order to continue doing so, we need your support. We offer a variety of ways for our readers to support us, from direct donations to special subscriptions and cool merchandise — and every little bit helps. Thank you.
