Robotic Revolutions

from the are-we-still-dreaming-? dept

Robots that can effectively interact with us have been promised for a long time but the promise just hasn’t appeared. Starting of course with Isaac Asimov’s view of future robots, we have all probably been disappointed with the speed of developments in this area. An interesting article that suggests that the robotic revolution is finally arriving, covers some of the latest and most interesting advances. One point which I notice that they omitted was mentioning why we’re getting closer to this robotic age, the answer of course is the development of MEM’s (Micro Electro-Mechanical Machines) that can perform tasks for a fraction of the price, size and speed that older and bulkier components could never achieve.
