A very interesting, though insanely long, article concerning the joke about Al Gore inventing the internet. Basically, the article looks at what Gore said, how it was transformed into a national joke, and then looks at what Gore really has done for the internet (quite a bit). The main point of the article, really, is how the American culture takes one small thing, blows it out of proportion and has no time or interest in hearing about what really happened.
