ChipShot.com Bankruptcy

Okay, here's yet another dot com that has stumbled into bankruptcy. Chipshot.com has laid off most staff and filed for bankruptcy protection. What's amusing about this one is that it was not so long ago that these guys were the poster children for everything that was great about dot coms. Some young guys raised a ton of money from famous VCs and thought they were at the top of the world. I also find it a little weird that they're filing now, considering they raised nearly $30 million four months ago. Perhaps they never should have had that special $1 putter offer (the only thing I ever purchased from Chipshot - and I don't even play golf). Between my friends and I we must have ordered 25 of those putters. We even talked about handing them out as party favors...
