Scour Files For Bankruptcy

from the and-just-as-I-got-to-like-it dept

I only recently started playing around with Scour Exchange and found that I like using it much more than Napster. So, what happens now? They file for bankruptcy. Apparently, the service will remain up for the time being, as they try to figure out what to do with the company. I guess I'd better download all those movies quickly...

Thank you for reading this Techdirt post. With so many things competing for everyone’s attention these days, we really appreciate you giving us your time. We work hard every day to put quality content out there for our community.

Techdirt is one of the few remaining truly independent media outlets. We do not have a giant corporation behind us, and we rely heavily on our community to support us, in an age when advertisers are increasingly uninterested in sponsoring small, independent sites — especially a site like ours that is unwilling to pull punches in its reporting and analysis.

While other websites have resorted to paywalls, registration requirements, and increasingly annoying/intrusive advertising, we have always kept Techdirt open and available to anyone. But in order to continue doing so, we need your support. We offer a variety of ways for our readers to support us, from direct donations to special subscriptions and cool merchandise — and every little bit helps. Thank you.

Why Scour or Gnut, when you can Mojo?

Over at Salon.com they have an article on MojoNation. (http://www.mojonation.net) This is an idea I like, and I think you will to. I'm using it on 2 linux boxes and I kinda like the way its set up. Take a look and see.

Re: Why Scour or Gnut, when you can Mojo?

I downloaded the Mojo crap and it looked alot like crap I have seen before. It had a book of an installation man, and it looked like another book on just how to use it... Mojo reminded me of the old days of Ratio bbs's except you can buy mojo$ with real cash. Why would anyone do that when a free alternitave is available? Just cause you start up an internet email service doesnt mean your somekinda genius. Mojo sucks, Scour kicked butt.
