Has Microsoft Changed?

from the not-really dept

The Economist takes a look as to whether or not Microsoft has changed at all since they were told they would have to split up. There certainly have been some cosmetic changes that make them seem like the kinder, gentler Microsoft we can all love and trust, but the reality isn't so nice. Microsoft is still the 800 lb. gorilla that is looking to crush everyone else and use its monopoly power to force us to give them more money. Did anyone actually think they would really change? This is Microsoft we're talking about.

Thank you for reading this Techdirt post. With so many things competing for everyone’s attention these days, we really appreciate you giving us your time. We work hard every day to put quality content out there for our community.

Techdirt is one of the few remaining truly independent media outlets. We do not have a giant corporation behind us, and we rely heavily on our community to support us, in an age when advertisers are increasingly uninterested in sponsoring small, independent sites — especially a site like ours that is unwilling to pull punches in its reporting and analysis.

While other websites have resorted to paywalls, registration requirements, and increasingly annoying/intrusive advertising, we have always kept Techdirt open and available to anyone. But in order to continue doing so, we need your support. We offer a variety of ways for our readers to support us, from direct donations to special subscriptions and cool merchandise — and every little bit helps. Thank you.

    :(

Windows pissed me off again yesterday... so I deleted it. Kubuntu is better. Whenever Windows pisses me off I delete it for about 6 months and then install it again when I think it has learned its' lesson. It usually doesn't learn though.
    :(
Why does it want to make me sad?
