Send Email, Win Money

from the this-doesn't-sound-right... dept

Remember the days of the internet business model where it was all about giving away money with no idea how to capitalize on those "eyeballs"? Laughed at the concept of iWon, being a portal that gave away money. Rejoiced at the demise of AllAdvantage who gave away money to people just for surfing? Apparently, some people never learn. There's a new company that combines two of the least profitable, but most popular fads of the internet: electronic greeting cards and random money giveaways. You can now win money just for sending an electronic greeting. Sure, it might seem a bit less sincere, but who's going to complain when you're the big million dollar winner? I thought we'd gotten past all these ridiculous business models. Who funded these guys?

Thank you for reading this Techdirt post. With so many things competing for everyone’s attention these days, we really appreciate you giving us your time. We work hard every day to put quality content out there for our community.

Techdirt is one of the few remaining truly independent media outlets. We do not have a giant corporation behind us, and we rely heavily on our community to support us, in an age when advertisers are increasingly uninterested in sponsoring small, independent sites — especially a site like ours that is unwilling to pull punches in its reporting and analysis.

While other websites have resorted to paywalls, registration requirements, and increasingly annoying/intrusive advertising, we have always kept Techdirt open and available to anyone. But in order to continue doing so, we need your support. We offer a variety of ways for our readers to support us, from direct donations to special subscriptions and cool merchandise — and every little bit helps. Thank you.

    Ahabs false prophets

"Just a random opening of the book"

    1KINGS 22
Ahab, arise, take possesion of the vineyard of Naboth the jez-reel-lite which he refused to give thee for money: for Naboth is not alive, but dead.
16 And it came to pass, when Ahab heard that Naboth was dead, that Ahab rose up to go down to the vineyard of Naboth the jez-reel-lite to take possesion of it.
17 And the word of the lord came to Elijah the Tish-bite, saying 18 Arise, go down to meet Ahab King of Isreal, Which is in Samaria behold, he is in the vineyard of Naboth, whither he is gone down to posses it.
19 And thou shalt speak unto him, saying, thus saith the lord, Has thou killed, and also taken possesion? And thou shalt speak unto himsaying, thus saith the lord, In the place where the dogs licked the blood of Naboth shal dogs lick thy blood, even thine.
