The article points out that every time a new outsourcing "wave" comes along, companies make the exact same mistakes. The latest wave is with ASPs managing certain applications for companies. Of course, the entire article can be summed up pretty simply by saying that you should make sure the roles and metrics are clear, and you should make sure that there's real value in outsourcing. And don't get tricked into long contracts. How hard is that?
