Smaller, Faster, Cheaper... Spies?

While not quite The Diamond Age, very small sensors are being developed to spy on enemy troops. Maybe someday we'll have microscopic airborne satellites that will track our enemies, but for now we'll just have to defend ourselves against old-fashioned microscopic airborne satellites called Anthrax.
