Email Increases Paper Usage

By now, the idea of the "paperless office" is such a joke that no one would ever bring it up any more. However, here's a study showing that not only do new communications technologies not cut down on paper usage, instead, they increase paper usage. Apparently, email and such things causes people to get more "important" documents, which they print out, file, and promptly lose. So, they print it out again, file it again, and lose it again. A never ending cycle that is only increasing paper usage all over...Thank you for reading this Techdirt post. On a tangent, I get so peeved when I have to print a form (Word or PDF), fill it out, then fax it to someone in the same company. That's the kind of thing that keeps the office from being paperless.
