Amazon Draws A Holiday Crowd
from the doing-just-fine dept
Now that the days of the "internet only" e-commerce site are considered dead and gone, isn't it interesting that Amazon.com is getting an awful lot of traffic. Actually, their co-branded sites with Toys R Us and Target are also getting a ton of traffic, this holiday season - so overall they seem to be doing very well. There is still the question of how many people are just window shopping, but it does seem that Amazon is still holding its own as the e-commerce site to visit if you want to buy anything.Thank you for reading this Techdirt post. With so many things competing for everyone’s attention these days, we really appreciate you giving us your time. We work hard every day to put quality content out there for our community.
Techdirt is one of the few remaining truly independent media outlets. We do not have a giant corporation behind us, and we rely heavily on our community to support us, in an age when advertisers are increasingly uninterested in sponsoring small, independent sites — especially a site like ours that is unwilling to pull punches in its reporting and analysis.
While other websites have resorted to paywalls, registration requirements, and increasingly annoying/intrusive advertising, we have always kept Techdirt open and available to anyone. But in order to continue doing so, we need your support. We offer a variety of ways for our readers to support us, from direct donations to special subscriptions and cool merchandise — and every little bit helps. Thank you.

I bought from them this year
Now before someone accuses me of being anti-social for shopping online, I have to say fighting the crowds at the malls is not my idea of a fun social occasion. Besides I have been to several holiday parties already and will be at a few more. I get together with the people I care about.
