Getting Scammed On eBay

When I was in junior high school, I remember hanging out with some friends around Rockefeller Center in NYC, and being approached by the most cliche scam artist around. He offered us the chance to buy a "real, authentic" watch from any of the top watch makers for only $10! One of my more gullible friends went for it, and paid the $10 for a "real, authentic" Rolex. We all made fun of him. Later that day he was looking at it said "guys, I think this might be real". It didn't take us long to find the "made in China" imprint on the back, and suggest that Rolexes were unlikely to say such a thing. The next day he told us the watch stopped working. It seems those ever present street vendors of fake merchandise have discovered their virtual street corner. Selling fake brand name merchandise on eBay is becoming increasingly popular. And, just like my friend, it appears that there are plenty of gullible suckers willing to buy a product they haven't even seen based on a seller they don't know suggesting that it's real.

and I have sent him some e-mails, he won't do off e-bay sales (not that I would but I ask that to see if they will, good way to find scammers) all his answers were well put and he sounded legit, plus he has a score of 135 with only 1 negative feedback. How is he scamming? I won't buy from him now because the seed of doubt has been planted but I'm curious how this list is compiled and what evedince of scamming is used against those on the list.

They are dead serious about prosecuting these crimes.
IMPORTANT- PLEASE FOLLOW ALL THE INSTRUCTIONS ON THE DOCUMENT in order for it to be processed correctly.
I believe we are about to see a BIG turn around in Romania.
Now if the UK and Italy can get their acts together and start prosecuting their thieves, we could pretty much clean up eBay.

The sad thing is, people don't take note of these things.
Most of the scam stuff is obvious and i have noticed major mistakes in their categorisation of their items. This should be a major warning bell!
I have seen a newbie (1 day old account) selling 300+ items, all of high end electronics all starting at $1.00. The sad thing was....he has a damn lot of bids on his stuff. I felt very sorry for the people who bid.
I'm glad to see some people have got together to get rid of these people.
We need to get an official site and get ebay's support.

I have lived in Europe and know that their address format generally does not resemble the American one so closely, so I went on Google to find out what a 'normal' Romanian address would look like. Imagine my 'surprise' *cough* when I came across this site instead and saw an almost identical address! I promptly e-mailed "Vlad" back telling him what a miserable excuse of a human being he was (like he cared) and thanked my lucky stars that I didn't give him any money.
I'm sure he'll just change his info and continue with his scams, but everyone PLEASE BE AWARE of the types of people who are out there!!!!!! No matter how good a deal seems -- if you feel even the least bit uncomfortable, DO NOT SEND ANY MONEY!!!
Hopefully this will save someone else from walking into the same trap I almost succumbed to.

I want to use escrow to secure the deal. The transaction is simple : I send
the package, when you get confirmation that the package is sent you send the
payment to the escrow company. After they receive the payment they release
the package and you receive and inspect it. After you inspect it you tell
the company if you keep it or want to send it back. If you keep it they send

This men, is operating under hundreds of different names. Any time he appears he gives his details, for example:

Make sure if you submit an email address,that it is really a scammer. No sense in wasting time tracking legit addresses. They also track and report the hijacked accounts as soon as they find them
There is a team of individuals from various countries, who daily put their time to good use, tracking and reporting the scammers. Mainly the scammers found on ebay.
Check it out, and if you have other email addresses, make sure to let the administrator know, they will research and post them

These two crack addicts collected tens of thousands of dollars from ebayers with no intention of ever sending the products. They claim they were robbed Last week but kept selling for two days after the so called theft of merchandise adding a few thousand more to thier coffers. It is alot more sinister than that. They robbed ebayers for almost a month before comming up with the whole "My house was Robbed" excuse. The gig was up once the negative feedbacks started rolling in which is when they cancelled auctions. By then it was too late for at least 100 unsuspecting Ebayers. Probably more than that. BEWARE for these crooks and others like them.. They have no problem waiting a good while before rounding up their victims.
