Day Of Online Radio Silence

from the protests-internet-style dept

In protesting the CARP fees that online radio stations say will put them out of business, many online radio stations say that they will not broadcast on Wednesday to protest the fees. They're hoping that this will convince regular listeners to complain to Congress about the CARP fees. It sounds like a nice idea, though I wonder how many radio stations will actually take part - and how many people will be bothered enough to do anything. Of course, once CARP kicks in and all of the radio stations go out of business anyway, it'll probably be too late to protest.
