Tough Week For Qualcomm
And it's only Tuesday. Yesterday Ford and Qualcomm grounded Wingcast their joint telematics plays. Today there's a story questioning the long-term prospects for BREW, Qualcomm's Java competitor. Since Sun is network aganostic they've done deals with everyone including Nokia and NTT. Where, despite what Qualcomm says, BREW is aimed squarely at the companies committed to their flavor of CDMA which only has a 20% market share. That said you have to give them points for coming up with a competent solution for their partners.
