Is Apple Ripe For A Takeover?

I guess it's been a slow news day for some financial writers who suddenly need to speculate on whether or not Apple would make a good target for a takeover. They have a fair amount of cash on hand, and the valuation isn't ridiculously high (relatively speaking, of course). I imagine the Apple faithful would respond with shock (and horror). Personally, I think it's a bad idea also. Almost any corporate takeover would probably end up killing off most of what was unique and special about Apple's products and culture. Anyway, who would be in a position to buy them anyway? Of the names tossed out in the article (Sony, IBM, Dell, and Disney), I can't see any of them being really all that interested. The only one that might possibly make sense (under vastly different circumstances) would be Sony.
