World's Oldest Photograph Analyzed, Preserved

Some scientists have been analyzing the world's oldest known photograph to determine exactly how it was made. Until now, no one was quite sure. They're doing the analysis very carefully, and are planning on making sure the photograph is well preserved once they're done. The photograph itself was taken in 1826 by French inventor Joseph Nicephore Niepce. Apparently, its exposure time was eight hours, so you get the weird effect of having the sun shining from multiple angles (though, it's tough to make out much of anything in the actual photograph).
