The Cristina Foundation Article & Interview @ GeekExtreme
from the good-charity dept
Benjamin Hunter writes "Whenever I go to a big event, such as COMDEX or PC EXPO, I try to find at least one charitable organization to profile. I mean, we can't always run around looking for cool freebies and review material. While at PC EXPO this year, I found the Cristina Orginization. They fit the bill. See my article and video interview with one of the members of the Cristina Foundation. As an added bonus, we have some nifty prizes for you folks if you donate to the Cristina foundation. Full details within the article." It appears the Cristina foundation takes your old computer donations and gives them to children with "special needs". I don't know anything about the organization other than what's in the article Benjamin submitted, so this isn't any kind of endorsement. On the face of it, though, it sounds like a useful charity.Thank you for reading this Techdirt post. With so many things competing for everyone’s attention these days, we really appreciate you giving us your time. We work hard every day to put quality content out there for our community.
Techdirt is one of the few remaining truly independent media outlets. We do not have a giant corporation behind us, and we rely heavily on our community to support us, in an age when advertisers are increasingly uninterested in sponsoring small, independent sites — especially a site like ours that is unwilling to pull punches in its reporting and analysis.
While other websites have resorted to paywalls, registration requirements, and increasingly annoying/intrusive advertising, we have always kept Techdirt open and available to anyone. But in order to continue doing so, we need your support. We offer a variety of ways for our readers to support us, from direct donations to special subscriptions and cool merchandise — and every little bit helps. Thank you.
