How Long Until Grid Computing Becomes Common?

There's been a lot of talk about "grid computing" lately, so Red Herring is taking a look at how long it will be until companies routinely use grid computing systems to solve various problems. What they found is that, surprisingly, there isn't much debate or argument about how grid computing should work. While there are usually standards battles and other crap to bog stuff down, it seems like grid computing is moving forward rather smoothly. So, the final prediction is that within ten years, grid computing in corporations will be commonplace.
