Amazingly Enough, The Internet Is Good For Many Musicians

from the shhh!-don't-tell-the-RIAA! dept

This, of course, will come as no surprise to just about anyone who doesn't happen to work for Hilary Rosen, but many small time musicians see the internet as their most important tool in both creating and distributing their music. While the RIAA is working hard to blindly "protect" the big music labels and their biggest acts, most musicians see the benefit of the internet in making it easier and cheaper for them to record - as well as get much more exposure. You would think that the music artists should have an industry organization that speaks much louder than the RIAA, which is clearly a representative of the music labels.

    Internet usage for musicians

I think its a great tool for getting your music out and heard.
Home recording has come a long way, and the improvements are vast.
More power to the bands/musicians with the access to the internet and listeners around the world.
www.garageband.com is a great tool for unsigned bands.
