Hollywood Trying To Get ISPs To Do Their Dirty Work

Not surprisingly, the latest tactic of the MPAA to prevent file trading of movies online is to send fairly indiscriminate letters to various ISPs telling them to police all their users for them. It's bad enough that the MPAA has been acting as judge and jury for anyone who they think might be sharing their content online, but now they want to push that responsbility to parties who have no interest in it. The letters basically tell the ISPs that some of their users are clearly sharing copyrighted material, and now that the ISP has been informed, they had better go do something about it. Hopefully, the ISPs won't give in to such bullying.
