25 Mile Long Photograph

Many years ago, before the days of digital cameras and easy "panorama" developing, I played around with panorama photography for a class that I took. I was living in New York then, and went somewhere with a nice view and took a bunch of photographs in a row. It took me over a week in the darkroom to piece together the five or six photographs to make the extended scene. Nowadays, you can simply buy cameras/film/software that will do all the work for you. However, an artist is now pushing those boundaries by using a digital camera to make a 25 mile long sequential photograph of the streets of San Francisco. He's carefully piecing together each photograph so that it all ties seamlessly together. Of course, no one has any idea how or where the finished project can actually be displayed, though, of course the project has its own website, called Seamless City.
