Anti-Trusting Microsoft

An interesting article written by Larry Lessig saying that many people are missing the point about Microsoft's Palladium digital rights management plan. He basically says that (as they should) no one trusts Microsoft, so everyone immediately believes that whatever move they make is designed to improve their monopoly position. However, that obscures the fact that, according to Lessig, Palladium's DRM plan is actually much better than the "can't copy anything" digital rights management that Hollywood is asking for. He admits that even this DRM would harm fair use rights, but he points out that no one is even debating this point because they simply don't trust Microsoft at all.
