Instant Messaging Matures In The Office

IM affords the ability to have a real conversation, as opposed to the staccato-style conversations that email threads seem to become. TIME.com discusses the growth of instant messaging at the office. Interestingly, studies show that people on IM at work don't waste too much time chatting with friends, and their productivity gain would outweigh any socializing.
