They Thought Cell Phones Were Silly, Too?

Glenn Fleishman at 802.11b Networking News looks at some research from the Shosteck Group that predicts the public hotspot business will be unprofitable. He agrees with their analysis based on their assumptions, but believes their assumptions are too short sighted. He argues that it's still very early days and there hasn't been enough work done yet to say the concept is a total failure. Yes, certain players have failed and there are obstacles ahead. But the industry is still growing and playing with new ideas.
