For all the talk of how quickly the Japanese ran to cooler wireless phones and upgraded networks, it sounds as though 3G is pretty slow to catch on in Japan. Many people say there just aren't compelling enough reasons to buy the phones, which they see as too expensive. The article also discusses some cultural differences in Japan, including the idea that it's impolite to answer your mobile phone while on a train.
