More Wi-Fi Honeypots

from the they're-everywhere dept

Back in July we mentioned that SAIC had set up some WiFi "honeypots" to try to capture wireless renegades trying to break into corporate networks, but soon after that wondered if such such honeypots are entrapment? Apparently, most people don't seem to care, as more and more are experimenting with honeypots. The latest is KPMG which set up a WiFi honeypot from their London headquarters and are going to release the data from what they found. The article mentions that some think a new war chalking symbol will be developed denoting which access points are really honeypots.
