Vietnam Cracking Down On Online Critics

Last week we posted an article about how you now need to register to create a website in Vietnam. That article mentioned that some people had been arrested for placing "questionable" material online. This week the Vietnamese government admitted this was true saying that individuals were uploading illegal information that "overstepped" the rights of people to criticize the government. That seems like a fairly subjective line...

    Did you read any of these sites?

    Maybe they were promoting Violence?

      Let's see... one site was simply a translation of a State Department site talking about democracy. Another discussed a border dispute with China saying it should be looked at.

      Neither sound like they were promoting violence. They were just critical of current government policy.
