Hollywood Has DVD Holiday Wishes

Remember when home video machines were supposed to be the "Boston strangler" to the movie industry? Well here's yet another article about how DVDs have basically saved the movie industry. They point out that the release of the extended edition of "Lord of the Rings" on DVD - even though another version has already been released, is likely to bring in more money in one day than many movies make in their entire release cycle. Yet, the man who made the "Boston strangler" comment is still head of the MPAA - and has never gone back on his assessment.
