A Picture Is Worth 1,000 Fake Words

Wired takes a look at the increasing trend for doctored photographs to show up on the web, and wonders if people will stop trusting photographic evidence completely. I think that's pushing things a bit too far. If anything, it should (hopefully) just make people think a bit more critically before buying into everything they see. The more interesting part of the trend, though, seems to be that many people take these faked photos to be real. From the stories presented in the article, it appears (as with commentary writings) people tend to believe pictures that support their own world view without any critical thought.
