The War Will Be Blogged

A decade ago, if you wanted to know about the Gulf War, you watched CNN. Reuters is now wondering if the place to follow the war in the Middle East is going to be blogs. The article repeats a lot of the standard stuff about blogs. Clearly, blogs may allow better discussion about events, but it's unlikely to provide the same time of reporting that a CNN provides. I think the continuing argument of blogs vs. journalists misses the point. They each provide different (and useful) features. CNN will still report the war, and bloggers will make the discussion flow on top of that (and occasionally under and throughout it).
