Bluetooth Learning To Live With WiFi
Everyone seems to love talking about how all the different wireless technologies might compete against each other. However, people are realizing more and more, that as different technologies are built for different purposes, some may be very complementary together. ExtremeTech takes a look at the issues involved having Bluetooth and WiFi coexist. Some people are worried about interference between the two, but work is being done to combat that problem. In theory, it definitely makes sense to offer a combined solution. The two were built for very different purposes, and while you can shoehorn some uses designed for one into the other, it's not a very elegant solution. However, the bigger issue might be how to deal with some of the other wireless data technologies that are cropping up every day now. It seems like we're going to face the typical standards battle that so many new technologies seem to face.Thank you for reading this Techdirt post. With so many things competing for everyone’s attention these days, we really appreciate you giving us your time. We work hard every day to put quality content out there for our community.
Techdirt is one of the few remaining truly independent media outlets. We do not have a giant corporation behind us, and we rely heavily on our community to support us, in an age when advertisers are increasingly uninterested in sponsoring small, independent sites — especially a site like ours that is unwilling to pull punches in its reporting and analysis.
While other websites have resorted to paywalls, registration requirements, and increasingly annoying/intrusive advertising, we have always kept Techdirt open and available to anyone. But in order to continue doing so, we need your support. We offer a variety of ways for our readers to support us, from direct donations to special subscriptions and cool merchandise — and every little bit helps. Thank you.
