Rural carrier switches to GSM

To date GSM coverage in the US is pretty limited when compared to TDMA and CDMA. But with AT&T and Cingular shifting to GSM and getting their rural roaming partners to convert as well things are going to change. Of course we still have to be different than the rest of the world with GSM on 1900 and 800 frequencies while everyone else uses GSM 900 and 1800. But by the time US GSM coverage matches TDMA coverage, we're guessing 2005, you'll be able to buy a quad-band GSM world phone.
