What Should I Do With My Life?
from the good-question dept
Recently, I've noticed many more friends of mine who are getting increasingly agitated by the idea that they're not doing the right thing with their lives. I'm not sure what triggers this sort of "what does it all mean" crisis, but it's always difficult to figure out what to tell those people. Now, Po Bronson has set out to figure out what it takes to find your "calling". Fast Company is running a fascinating excerpt from his new book called, What Should I Do With My Life?, where he goes around and talks to hundreds of people who have found what it takes in life to make them happy. Some of the obvious stuff seems to apply: money doesn't necessarily make people happy, and happy people often aren't rich. Also, most people took many different paths before they found the right place for them. Sounds like a great read.Thank you for reading this Techdirt post. With so many things competing for everyone’s attention these days, we really appreciate you giving us your time. We work hard every day to put quality content out there for our community.
Techdirt is one of the few remaining truly independent media outlets. We do not have a giant corporation behind us, and we rely heavily on our community to support us, in an age when advertisers are increasingly uninterested in sponsoring small, independent sites — especially a site like ours that is unwilling to pull punches in its reporting and analysis.
While other websites have resorted to paywalls, registration requirements, and increasingly annoying/intrusive advertising, we have always kept Techdirt open and available to anyone. But in order to continue doing so, we need your support. We offer a variety of ways for our readers to support us, from direct donations to special subscriptions and cool merchandise — and every little bit helps. Thank you.
