Former Yahoo CEO Escapes Sentence For Being A War Criminal

Last year we had the story of how France wanted to try former Yahoo! CEO, Tim Koogle for being a war criminal because Yahoo hosted auctions on its American website that included Nazi artifacts that are illegal in France. While that case continues, the prosecutor has now asked that Koogle face no sentence should he be convicted. Of course, if the prosecutor doesn't want a sentence for Koogle, why did he bring the case in the first place? Yet another example of the sillyness of internet jurisdiction where any law in any country can be applied (almost at random) to anyone who puts up a website.
