Hearings Sought On Poindexter's TIA

from the responding-to-the-outcries dept

There's been an almost universal negative response to all the reports about John Poindexter's Total Information Awareness agency, so it's not a huge surprise that some folks in Congress decided to ride the publicity wave and call for hearings on the topic. They're asking that no further movement be made on the spying agency until they've had their say.

      Poindexter is a crook

i am dumbfounded that this convicted felon (ok, overturned on a technicality); the man who gave meaning to the phrase "plausibly deniability" when answering then senator Dick Cheney about his duplicitous dealings in the Iran-Contra affair; that this guy would be entrusted to head the agency that collects data on americans! even more disappointing is that it seems very few in the public media are raising red flags about him. George Orwell must be laughing now...

        Re: Poindexter is a crook

What more could a President ask for? He has proved himself as a man who will do your dirty work and take the fall saying that the President had no knowledge of illegal activities.

The alternative is that this administration has knowingly hired a loose cannon criminal.

So the question is: Bush/Cheney evil or stupid?
