Verizon Seeks Stay Of RIAA Ruling

Following last week's ruling that Verizon had to simply hand over the name of their subscriber that the RIAA believes is file sharing and Verizon's announced plans to appeal the ruling, Verizon asked the RIAA if it was okay if they didn't reveal the name until the appeal was completed (a reasonable request). The RIAA came back with the expected "No! Give up the name now!" response, forcing Verizon to go back to court to ask for a stay of last week's ruling, so that they can keep the subscriber's information private until the appeal is completed.
