Yet Another Spammer Profile
from the sounds-like-he's-getting-tired dept
Over the past year or so it's become popular for various newspapers to write a "spammer profile", where they talk about a spammer who will try (poorly) to defend what they do, as well as talk about how big a house they live in. It seems that they're running out of spammers to talk to, because we're starting to hit repeats. This one is about Ronnie Scelson, who has been profiled before. He makes the typical idiotic comments: "What I do is not illegal. There's nothing wrong with it. It's a form of advertising -- the only form that is totally environmentally safe. You push one button and it's gone." Everyone knows the standard responses to idiots who spout this sort of thing, so I won't even bother going through it. However, the rest of the article is interesting - as he's clearly scaling back his operations as anti-spammers really have gotten to him. A little encouragement for those who are working to stop spammers.Thank you for reading this Techdirt post. With so many things competing for everyone’s attention these days, we really appreciate you giving us your time. We work hard every day to put quality content out there for our community.
Techdirt is one of the few remaining truly independent media outlets. We do not have a giant corporation behind us, and we rely heavily on our community to support us, in an age when advertisers are increasingly uninterested in sponsoring small, independent sites — especially a site like ours that is unwilling to pull punches in its reporting and analysis.
While other websites have resorted to paywalls, registration requirements, and increasingly annoying/intrusive advertising, we have always kept Techdirt open and available to anyone. But in order to continue doing so, we need your support. We offer a variety of ways for our readers to support us, from direct donations to special subscriptions and cool merchandise — and every little bit helps. Thank you.

spammers - my opinion
These people should be made illegal wherever possible - they are sad scumbags.
I have to waste so much time every day removing around 50 of their filth and clutter. I for one hope they all rot in hell one day or repent NOW
