Turn Off That Cellphone. It's Meeting Time.

As New York City has instituted their ban on mobile phone use at public performances, the NY Times is saying that many corporate chief executives are doing the same thing in meetings. CEOs are instituting fining policies for anyone who has their phone ring during a meeting. What's funny is that many of these workers carry phones that are being dumped on them by the company. Of course, that's still no excuse for not learning how to switch a phone to vibrate mode. The companies that have put in place official or unofficial fines to stop mobile phone interruptions during meetings have found that the policies work. All of them have noticed a sharp reduction in ringing phones.

Business folks with Ringing Cell Phones?
I guess I just work around folks who hate the sound of cell-phones ringing as much as I do.
Of course, the same cannot be said for movie theaters, which I no longer go to because it seems like someone's phone is going off every five minutes in just about every movie I've been to in the last year or so.
