Virgin Mobile USA Announces Support For Number Portability
So far, the wireless carriers in the US have done everything they can to slow down number portability, even though it may benefit some of them. However, Virgin Mobile USA, realizes that they may be one of the biggest winners should number portability go through, since they're an upstart and need any way to take market share from the established players. So, today they came out publicly in favor of number portability which would lower the barriers for people switching carriers. Of course, I wonder what happens when users start leaving Sprint PCS for Virgin Mobile USA, since Sprint PCS is Virgin's partner in the operation.
