Verizon Points Wi-Fi at Small Businesses

Not sure why there's so many WiFi stories today. I guess it's just one of those WiFi days. The latest one is that Verizon has been focusing their WiFi efforts on selling equipment to small businesses, under 100 employees. It's an interesting strategy - and a bit different than most carriers are taking in trying to get involved in WiFi. My question, though, is what role are they really playing? If all they're doing is reselling WiFi equipment, why does anyone need to go to Verizon?
