The Refrigerated, Wired, Microwave Oven

from the sign-me-up dept

For those of you in need of an appliance that simply does too much, here's a good candidate. It's a refrigerated, wired, microwave oven that can be controlled over the internet or by phone. In other words, before you leave for work in the morning, you put your meal in there, and let it remain refrigerated throughout the day. On your way home from work, you can just call up the microwave and get it cooking, so you have a nice warm meal ready for you as you walk in the door. Not really sure how quickly these things are likely to jump off the shelves (especially at $2,000 a pop), but I'm sure some gadget freaks will line up.

Thank you for reading this Techdirt post. With so many things competing for everyone’s attention these days, we really appreciate you giving us your time. We work hard every day to put quality content out there for our community.

Techdirt is one of the few remaining truly independent media outlets. We do not have a giant corporation behind us, and we rely heavily on our community to support us, in an age when advertisers are increasingly uninterested in sponsoring small, independent sites — especially a site like ours that is unwilling to pull punches in its reporting and analysis.

While other websites have resorted to paywalls, registration requirements, and increasingly annoying/intrusive advertising, we have always kept Techdirt open and available to anyone. But in order to continue doing so, we need your support. We offer a variety of ways for our readers to support us, from direct donations to special subscriptions and cool merchandise — and every little bit helps. Thank you.

    Don't Knock It

I don't know....if they had it available for Target or Walmart prices I'd buy one.

There are a lot of times that I easily pull 10 to 12 hour days updating servers. It would be great to come home at 7 or 8pm to a ready meal, rather than have to face the daunting task of pulling something together at 8pm.
